N.C. backers push for marriage protection amendment

It's a totally redundant amendment because our state law already prohibits it. They're just rubbing it in to pander to right wingers and "family values," whatever that means any more North Carolina's two Roman Catholic bishops joined dozens of religious leaders, conservative state lawmakers and traditional-values activists seeking an amendment to the state constitution banning gay marriage.
