McDonald's Spells "Desserts" As "Deserts" In National Ad

Customers going into McDonald's hoping for a cool treat might be surprised when their McFlurry turns out to be a McMouthfulOfSand.

At least that's what we're left to surmise from the tagline for their new national commercial, "Getting your just deserts." That would be desert, as in the kind with the cactus and the scorpions and the burning and the hallucinations. As we all remember from grade school, desserts have two s's because you want more of them.

A few other folks online have noticed the typo too, like this forum, this twitterer and this tumblr.

Maybe it's a subliminal message. By invoking the idea of the sand and the hot in people's minds, it will make them crave ice cream more and drive up sales.

I just hope they have better quality control over the amount of fecal matter in their beef!
