this isn't a blog but i feel like everyone should know

AT&T customer service sucks!Tim and I are trying to save money so we are getting on the same phone plan. We decided that, since I have the iPhone and AT&T has rollover minutes, we should get an AT&T plan together. That should have been easy. Except AT&T doesn't allow you to transfer a number if it's from another state. Any other service provider allows you to do that. We were told there would be another way to do it though. If we created an account for Tim where is number is from, then we could merge our two accounts and both of us could keep our numbers. This took about 3.5 hours at Best Buy and frustrating phone calls to get this. But since it was Sunday and the world shuts down on Sunday, the Best Buy dude (who should be canonized a saint) gave me the number to call and told me what to say. So I called this morning and guess what-- can't fucking do it. So, I went back to Best Buy and the same guy was working so he called and they told him that even though we went through all that shit yesterday, someone needs to change their number. Tim relented and said, fine, he would change his to a local number. We thought 'Great, Tim has a local number, then we'll transfer Des to his account and start a family share plan.' NO. Big fucking NO. Even though Tim made me an authorized signer on his account, I can't do shit which means that I had to call him at work 8 million times to get different permissions for different types of credit checks and other info. THEN, the lady on the phone with the Best Buy dude says that since I have an iPhone we have to go into an AT&T corporate store and get them to make a note about transfer of service and Tim, who works 15 hours a day, has to call the lady back and let her know so they can finish setting things up. AT&T can go fuck themselves. If there wasn't a HUGE cancellation fee, I would cancel my contract. 1. Why does AT&T not fix its market structure? We can't be the only ones who have complained about having to get a new number because our old number comes from somewhere else.2. Why have to option of having an authorized signer if that person can't make ANY decision?3. You were looking at MY account the entire time and saw I had an iPhone. You couldn't tell me to go to the corporate store sooner than 1 day and 2 hours into the entire process?All this so Tim and I can pay more money. What fuckers. ugh. /rant
